Country School Girls' Varsity Basketball Finish on a High Note

Though we missed some of our dedicated 8th grade player-leaders who were on secondary school revisits or battling illness today, many others stepped up to play hard to help culminate our season with a big win at home versus an always tenacious and well-disciplined OLM Prep team.

Claire (8), Anna (6) and Katie culminated their TCS basketball careers with strong court leadership, key minutes, and smart shooting, passing and decision making. Quinn (10) led all scorers, provided critical ball handling and had multiple key rebounds in spite of early foul trouble. Oakley (2) and Caitlin (1) played impressively hard throughout the game and provided the consistent energy and spark that the team needed. Maddie's speed and footwork on defense was impressive, noticed and appreciated, even by the referee, who complimented her during and after the game. And, as has been the case all season, Charlie's eagerness and enthusiasm led to key defensive plays and turnovers that led to important stops and fast break opportunities for the team. We'll miss our 8th graders for all they've given to the girls basketball program these past few years, and we look forward to the potential of next season with our talented 7th graders returning to lead the team!

All in all, today's game was a hard-earned and exciting win, and a great way to end the season. And, overall, it was a joy to experience the dedication, success and growth exemplified by everyone throughout our season!
We will celebrate with a team lunch Friday (so no need to pack a lunch) then some fun comradery at the 8th grade vs faculty basketball game at 2:30 on Friday. All are welcome to come watch!
