Boys' Varsity Basketball Epic Finish

This past Tuesday (1/7/25), fans were treated to an unforgettable showdown between TCS and IDS. The game started with TCS gaining control midway through the first quarter, holding onto their lead for nearly the entire game. But in the final seconds, the drama intensified. With just 5 seconds left, an IDS player intercepted the ball during a press break and drove to the basket, sinking a layup to give IDS a 1-point lead. Down 41-40, Coach Behr called a timeout to draw up a last-ditch play. On the inbounds pass, Matthew Perrotti somehow found Will Pappas at half court. In a desperate attempt, Will launched a half-court shot but was fouled as the buzzer sounded. The crowd held its breath as Will stepped to the free-throw line for three shots. Needing to sink just two of the three to secure the victory, the pressure was immense. His first shot missed. With beads of sweat on his brow and the gym silent, Will sank the second shot, tying the game. He stepped up for the final free throw—and nailed it! Pandemonium erupted as Will’s teammates stormed the court, celebrating their first win of the season in dramatic fashion.
Final Score: TCS 41, IDS 40
