Tough Game Goes Down to the Wire

Jason Wainio
A pair of very evenly matched opponents faced off on Monday afternoon.  The Owls hosted the Christian Heritage Academy. There was no score for much of the first half.  The Owls then had a great run down the right side of the field and Oliver Milligan sent a great cross into the box and Sam Collins nudged it home for the first goal of the game.  The score remained 1-0 deep into the second half.  The defense and goalkeeper, Will Pappas, did a great job frustrating CHA's offensive attack.  Then, a CHA player was taken down in the box and earned a penalty kick.  They scored from the spot, and then minutes later, the same CHA player got behind the defense and scored another goal to take the lead, 2-1.  It was a hard fought game on both sides and such a fun game to be a part of.
