Owls Win a Close One

Jason Wainio
The Owls took to the field on Thursday to face the Pine Point School.  This was a coed game, and the bench was full with 25 players suited up.  The first half was a back and forth affair.  Will Pappas had an excellent stretch in goal, and Caitlin Stanat had a couple of nice runs into the offensive end.  Not long after halftime, the home team got on the scoreboard with a goal by Jace Coassin.  This was his second goal in as many games.  Sam Collins took over as the goalkeeper and continued the excellent play in net.  Katie Lee and Veronica Schmid had strong second halves, playing good defense and pushing the ball up the field.  Kieran Freeman had a significant presence as a defensive midfielder, as he had several good tackles and clearances.  It was a hard fought victory!
