Girls' Varsity Basketball Win 18-17!

On Thursday 2/13, the Owls travelled to Foote and notched a 18-17 win in an exciting nailbiter!
The first three quarters of the game were characterized by even play, and the TCS players demonstrated solid decision making with shot selection and ball movement, even though it felt like the proverbial lid was on the basket. By the start of the fourth quarter, the team was down by four points, but strong defense and rebounding by Katie, Theodora and Maddie and a key steal and assist by Charlie shifted the momentum, and Claire, Mia and Oakley’s steady ball handling and great passing in the midst of a very physical game provided critical leadership. Anna, Claire and Caitlin hit some key jump shots in the last couple minutes of the game to give the Owls a one point lead at the one minute mark. The last minute felt much longer as multiple time outs and strategizing unfolded, but, at the buzzer, the smart, patient defensive play of the TCS players held off last second scoring opportunities by our opponents, securing the hard-fought win.
The scoring was well-distributed, a testament to the team's balanced attack, with Claire and Anna leading the charge with six points each, followed by Maddie, Oakley, and Caitlin contributing two apiece. The team should be immensely proud of their unwavering determination, exceptional sportsmanship, and never-give-up attitude.
The Owls hit the road again next Wednesday, February 19th, for a 3:15 PM matchup against Hopkins.
Let's go, Owls!
