Country Takes on The Foote School

Jason Wainio
On a beautiful afternoon, the Owls took on the Foote School in a home soccer match.  Country was a bit understaffed, as several players were participating in the cross country race at the same time.  Three players combined to hold down the fort as the goalkeeper.  Sam Collins continued his aggressive and strong play in the net.  He was replaced by Jace Coassin at halftime.  Jace made a couple of stellar saves, but fell awkwardly and was replaced by Quinn Crimmins.  Quinn did not allow a goal after he entered as the new keeper.  Also, the coaches would like to thank Caitlin Stanat, Norah Staron, and Theodora Kontomerkos for volunteering to play in the game to give the boys some needed subs.  They all played very well, and we were happy to have them!  It was a tough loss, but all of the players had fun and continue to show improvement in their understanding of the game.
