TCS Parents
2010/2011 Parent Association
The Parent Association, formerly known as the Parent Council, fosters and facilitates a spirit of community among all school constituencies, including students, parents, faculty, administration, and staff. The Parent Association, made of current parents, is led by a group of volunteers with responsibility for overseeing initiatives related to communications, fundraising, hospitality, quality assurance, services to the community, and volunteer coordination. Membership in the Parent Association is automatic upon enrollment of a child in the school. Through effective communication, mission-supporting activities, and regular meetings, the Parent Association helps all members of the school community feel connected to one another. The Parent Association serves as a conduit of information between the administration and the parent body and between and the parent body and the administration. It also facilitates communications between The Country School (TCS) and the broader community and helps raise awareness about TCS among external constituencies.
2010/2011 PA Leadership Team
One key for success of the Parent Association is to build a Leadership Team that facilitates the spirit of community while communicating in an effective and sensitive way. Most importantly, we strive to create an all inclusive parent association where members feel connected to all other constituents in our community.
The Parent Association, headed by a team leader, is divided into five interconnected arms or committees, which include:
Communications
Hospitality
Finances and Fundraising
Services to the Communities
Volunteer Coordination
We encourage every parent to participate in the Parent Association. Subcommittees within each of the groups exist and help is always welcomed. TCS is indebted to our volunteers. We cannot accomplish our goals without them, and we are excited to see what together we will accomplish.
