Parents Are Partners
We like to say our school offers a community you never knew you needed. Families are active participants in each child’s education, with ample opportunity to get involved in the curriculum and school events and committees. Our teachers embrace opportunities to integrate the expertise and skill sets of family members into their lessons, creating a unique synergy between home and school. Programs like Reading Buddies bring students of different grade levels together. Our community nurtures, protects and gets to know each other, and comes together whenever the occasion calls... for support, for encouragement or for celebration.
Parents have always held an important role at The Country School. Founded six decades ago by parents who wished to see their children reach their full potential, the school continues to rely on parent volunteers to help carry out our mission. Parents serve on the Board of Trustees, as members and leaders of the Parent Teacher Association, and as Room Parents. They help teachers with classroom activities and visit classrooms to share professional and personal expertise. They serve on committees, lead tours during Admission visits, and volunteer at special events such as Grandparents and Special Friends' Day.
